LONDON, Sept 6 (IFR) - Barclays said it has hired Michael Lublinsky from hedge fund Brevan Howard to head the UK bank’s macro trading.
Lublinsky will be one of four heads running the markets businesses, and adds to a raft of changes across the investment bank since the arrival of Tim Throsby. He joined in January from JP Morgan as head of Barclays International (which includes the investment bank).
Barclays said Lublinsky will start in November and be based in New York, reporting to Throsby. He previously oversaw fixed income trading in the Americas for Brevan Howard.
Throsby became interim head of the markets division as part of changes he announced in May. He planned to appoint heads of the four macro businesses - trading, credit, equities and sales.
Adeel Khan, who has run credit trading, will be head of credit and Barclays last month hired Stephen Dainton from Credit Suisse as head of equities. It has not yet appointed a head of sales. (Reporting by Steve Slater)
