WELLINGTON, Feb 25 (Reuters) - The death toll from the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand’s second biggest city was revised higher on Friday.
“The latest information I have regarding the number of deceased is that we have 113 people in the temporary morgue,” police commander Dave Cliff told reporters.
There was no updated number of missing, previously put at 228, but police have said it is likely that the dead make up some of those listed as missing but it will not be known until there has been cross checking.
No further survivors have been found since a woman was rescued mid-afternoon on Wednesday.
