Nyrstar to return to Belgian Bel-20 index

BRUSSELS, June 1 (Reuters) - Belgium's Nyrstar (NYR.BR), the world's biggest producer of zinc, will return to Belgium's benchmark Bel-20 index .BFX on June 20, Euronext Brussels said late on Tuesday.

The group, with a market capitalisation of some 1.6 billion euros ($2.3 billion) at Tuesday’s close, will replace Belgian holding company NPM/CNP NAT.BR, which was delisted last week.

Nyrstar, a joint venture combining the zinc smelting assets of Belgium’s Umicore (UMI.BR) and Australia’s Zinifex ZFX.AX, was floated in October 2007 at 20 euros and entered the Bel-20.

However, as the stock fell to below 2 euros a year later, Nyrstar subsequently dropped out of the benchmark index. It closed at 9.31 euros on Tuesday. (Reporting by Philip Blenkinsop)
