CORRECTED - UPDATE 1-Occidental Petroleum says Libyan output unaffected

(Corrects Occidental’s Libyan production to 13,000 boepd from 15,000 boepd)

NEW YORK, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Occidental Petroleum Corp (OXY.N) said in a release on Tuesday that its Libyan oil and gas production of 13,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day was not affected by the ongoing unrest and it continues to produce from its concessions there.

“We continue to closely monitor developments in Libya. Safety is a top priority at Oxy and we have taken all appropriate steps for the safety and security of our personnel in the region,” said an Occidental spokesman.

Libya provides less than 2 percent of Occidental’s total worldwide production. (Reporting by Jeffrey Kerr; Editing by Marguerita Choy)
