HOUSTON, March 17 (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil Corp's XOM.N 150,000 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles-area refinery in Torrance, California, filed notice on Monday of planned flaring on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The planned use of the giant safety flares to burn off hydrocarbons that cannot be processed normally is not related to an equipment breakdown, according to the notice filed with the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
An Exxon representative was not immediately available Monday morning to discuss refinery operations. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; editing by Jim Marshall)
