Olympics-Athletics-Guinean falls at the first hurdle - literally

BEIJING, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Guinean hurdler Fatmata Fofanah’s Olympic Games lasted all of two seconds on Sunday.

Her country’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony crashed into the first barrier of her opening 100 metres hurdles heat and fell to the track.

The 2008 African champion, making her Olympic debut, was not hurt but 23-year-old Fofanah took her time getting up before being helped away by officials.
