MOSCOW (Reuters) - Lokomotiv Moscow have signed Slovenia defender Branko Ilic and Brazilian striker Maicon, the Russian Premier League club said on Wednesday.

Ilic, 27, has signed a two-year deal with the railway side after his former club FK Moscow was disbanded last month when its main sponsor withdrew financing. Maicon, 20, has joined on a 4-1/2 year contract from Brazilian club Fluminense.

Ilic was part of the Slovenia squad that qualified for this year’s World Cup finals in South Africa and was on the bench for the playoff win over Russia that secured a place at the finals.

The Russian transfer window remains open until the domestic league season starts this weekend.
