Petrobras Brazil finds light oil in Campos Basin

SAO PAULO, March 2 (Reuters) - Brazil’s state-run oil company Petrobras (PETR4.SA) (PBR.N) announced an oil find on Friday estimated to contain a potential 570 million barrels of light crude reserves with a gravity of about 30 API on the American Petroleum Institute scale.

The deposit was found in the BC-60 block of the deepwater Caxareu field off the coast of Espirito Santo state in the northern Campos Basin, Petrobras said in a statement.

The oil was discovered in well 4-ESS-172-ES at depths ranging from 1,011 to 4,862 meters (3,317 to 15,951 feet).

Petrobras said further studies will determine the amount of recoverable reserves in the deposit.
