Philips expects supply chain problems to increase in fourth quarter

AMSTERDAM, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Dutch health technology company Philips expects its sales to take a bigger hit from global supply chain problems in the fourth quarter than in the previous three months, Chief Executive Frans van Houten said on Monday.

Van Houten said he expects the shortage of electronic components and other parts to set sales back by about 200 million euros ($232 million) in the final quarter of 2021 after a 150 million euro hit in the third quarter. ($1 = 0.8640 euros) (Reporting by Bart Meijer Editing by David Goodman )
