WARSAW, July 4 (Reuters) - Poland’s president said on Monday he plans to call a parliamentary election for Oct. 9.
“It is my aim to announce a decision that the elections should be held on Oct. 9. I will announce the decision formally at the beginning of August,” Bronislaw Komorowski told a news conference.
Surveys show Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s centrist Civic Platform (PO) is on track to win a second term, though may well have to seek a coalition with its current partner, the Peasants’ Party (PSL), or with the leftist Democratic Left Alliance (SLD). (Writing by Gabriela Baczynska)
