MDL judge allows dicamba class action claims to proceed

Litigation brought by farmers claiming dicamba-based weedkillers caused crop damage can proceed, a federal judge has ruled, despite trimming some of the plaintiffs’ claims.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Stephen Limbaugh in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, who oversees the multidistrict litigation over the weedkillers, denied Bayer AG’s and BASF SE’s request to dismiss the lawsuits and allowed many of the farmers’ claims to move ahead.
