Calif. appeals court affirms defense verdict in asbestos talcum powder suit

A California appeals court affirmed a lower court’s verdict that cleared Colgate-Palmolive of liability in the case of a woman who claimed she developed cancer from exposure to an asbestos-contaminated talcum powder made by the company.

The three-judge panel for the Court of Appeals of the State of California, Second Appellate District, in a unanimous decision on Monday said the trial court did not err in excluding parts of the testimony of one of the experts testifying on behalf of plaintiff Elizabeth Alfaro.
