Qualcomm receives order from Japan watchdog

TOKYO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Japan’s anti-trust regulator said on Wednesday it ordered Qualcomm Inc (QCOM.O) to remove what it claims are unfair clauses in its licensing agreements with Japanese phone makers.

Japan’s Fair Trade Commission said that it demanded that the wireless chip and technology developer remove clauses that grant Qualcomm free access to patents held by manufacturers, who it said have little choice but to use Qualcomm chips.
