PARIS, Dec 10 (Reuters) - The global economic crisis will not delay projects by French oil major Total SA TOTF.PA due to start production in 2009, its exploration and production head said on Wednesday.
“None of our projects, which are due to start producing in 2009, will be delayed,” Yves-Louis Darricarrere told reporters on the sidelines of a conference.
He said the Akpo oilfield in Nigeria would start at the end of the first quarter of 2009. Total had previously said the field would start in early 2009.
Total has a 24 percent stake in the Akpo project, which has a plateau output of 225,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
Darricarrere added Total’s Yemen LNG project would start up in the middle of 2009.
Total said in September that the LNG project could start at the beginning of 2009. (Reporting by Muriel Boselli)
