Gazprom: Exxon, Conoco could join Yamal LNG

MOSCOW, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Russia's Gazprom GAZP.MM is considering U.S. majors Exxon Mobil XOM.N and ConocoPhillips COP.N for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Russia's Arctic Yamal region, its deputy chairman said on Tuesday. "The list (of possible participants) is currently being made, but we do not exclude majors such as Exxon Mobil and Conoco from joining the project," Alexander Medvedev told journalists on the sidelines of a gas conference.

He also said Gazprom could work in gas projects in Alaska with Conoco in exchange for the U.S. major gaining access to the Yuzhno Tambeisky deposits in Arctic Yamal.

“But nothing concrete has been decided yet.”
