India's Cipla says its generic flu drug on WHO list

MUMBAI, May 13 (Reuters) - Indian drugmaker Cipla Ltd CIPL.BO said on Wednesday its 75 mg oseltamivir capsules, which has shown to be effective against the H1N1 flu virus, had been included in the World Health Organisation's list of pre-qualified medicinal products.

Oseltamivir is the generic version of Swiss drugmaker Roche's ROG.VX Tamiflu, one of only two approved drugs to which the H1N1 strain of influenza has been found to be susceptible. (Reporting by Prashant Mehra; Editing by John Mair)
