Spanair says to replace 11 jets with Airbuses

MADRID, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Spanish airline Spanair will replace 11 McDonnell Douglas jets with Airbus EAD.PA planes next year as it moves towards an all-Airbus fleet, a Spanair spokesman said on Wednesday.

“Next year the leasing contracts on our MD-82 and MD-87s expire and we want to take the opportunity to bring in planes from Airbus,” the spokesman said.
