MOSCOW, Aug 27 (Reuters) - Russia's anti-trust watchdog said on Thursday it had fined oil producers TNK-BP TNBPI.RTS and Gazprom Neft SIBN.MM a combined 8.9 billion roubles ($283.4 million) for abusing their positions on the oil products market.
Gazprom Neft, the oil arm of state-controlled gas giant Gazprom GAZP.MM, was fined 4.7 billion roubles and TNK-BP, half-owned by BP BP.L, was fined 4.2 billion roubles, the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) said in a statement.
The fines relate to prices of gasoline, aviation fuel and diesel fuel on the wholesale market in the first half of 2009, FAS said in the statement on its website, www.fas.gov.ru.
