Ukraine says it is ready to resume transit of Russian oil to the EU

KIEV, May 6 (Reuters) - Ukrainian pipeline operator Ukrtransnafta said on Monday it was ready to resume the transit of Russian oil to the European Union after flows were halted due to contamination of Russian oil in the Druzhba pipeline.

Ukrtransnafta said in a statement that clean Russian oil has started to flow from Belarus towards Ukraine.

Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Slovakia and other countries halted oil imports via the Druzhba pipeline in April after finding contaminants that can damage refinery equipment. (Reporting by Natalia Zinets Editing by Andrew Osborn)
