South Africa's retail sales up 0.5 percent y/y in April

JOHANNESBURG, June 13 (Reuters) - South African retail sales rose 0.5 percent year-on-year in April after increasing by a revised 4.6 percent in March, the statistics office said on Wednesday.

On a month-on-month basis, sales fell 1.2 percent. Sales rose 3.1 percent in the three months to the end of April compared with the same period last year, Statistics South Africa said. (Reporting by Olivia Kumwenda-Mtambo Editing by James Macharia)
