BOSTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Software maker Salesforce.com Inc (CRM.N) said on Wednesday that it signed an all-you-can-eat deal with Dell Inc DELL.O that allows the computer maker, already a large customer, to use an unlimited amount of its Web-based software through 2011.
Although Salesforce declined to disclose the value of the contract, Chief Executive Marc Benioff said it was the largest single deal his company has signed since it was founded a decade ago.
It is also the first flat-fee deal of its type, known as an enterprise license agreement, that Salesforce.com has signed. It supersedes previous agreements with Dell, which was already one of Salesforce’s biggest customers.
Benioff said he hopes to sign enterprise license agreements with other large corporations.
