Sands eyes Greece, Spain, Italy for casinos

SINGAPORE, June 22 (Reuters) - Las Vegas Sands (LVS.N), the world’s most valuable casino firm, has held talks about building Las Vegas-style casino strips in Greece, Italy and Spain, CEO Sheldon Adelson said on Wednesday.

Adelson, speaking at a news conference ahead of the formal opening of Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, did not elaborate.

He has previously said the Las Vegas-strip business model, which combines casino gaming with conventions and entertainment and other leisure activities, could be replicated in other parts of the world. (Reporting by Kevin Lim)
