July 24 (Reuters) - Sanlam, South Africa’s biggest insurer, said Financial Director Heinie Werth has been appointed as chief executive officer of its emerging markets unit Sanlam Emerging Markets.
The company also said Junior Ngulube, chief executive of Sanlam Pan Africa, who is due to retire in 18 months, will take over the role of vice chairman at the unit.
The executive changes, the company said, are part of its succession planning.
Wikus Olivier, currently the executive head of finance at Sanlam, will be interim chief financial officer from August 1 until the group commences a recruitment process to fill Werth’s position.
