Santos eyes Timor gas for Darwin LNG expansion

PERTH, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Australian energy firm Santos Ltd (STO.AX) said three of its gas fields in the Timor Sea could be used for a planned expansion of the Darwin liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility, operated by U.S. major ConocoPhillips (COP.N).

Santos said it was still looking at commercialisation options for its Evans Shoal, Barossa and Caldita fields located off northern Australia, after recently selling a 60 percent stake in three other fields off northwest Australia to France’s GDF Suez for $370 million.
