JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabian institutions are willing to consider funding themselves partly in yuan, and the Chinese are willing to provide such funding, a senior Saudi official said on Thursday.
Vice Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammed al-Tuwaijri was speaking at an economic conference of senior officials and businessmen from the two countries.
He also said the Public Investment Fund, the main Saudi sovereign wealth fund, was looking at investment opportunities in China’s transport system and other infrastructure. He did not give details. (Reporting by Katie Paul and Reem Shamseddine; Writing by Andrew Torchia)
