S.Korea c.bank makes career official Yoon Myun-shik senior deputy gov and board member

SEOUL, Aug 20 (Reuters) - South Korea’s central bank on Sunday said Yoon Myun-shik, a veteran central banker, has been named its senior deputy governor and new voting member of the monetary policy board.

Yoon, a deputy governor whose expertise is in monetary policy, replaces Jang Byung-wha, who finished his three-year term on June 24, the Bank of Korea said in a statement.

With Yoon taking office as the BOK’s No. 2 official, the bank’s monetary policy board will have the full contigent of seven voting members for its next interest rate decision on Aug. 31. (Reporting by Cynthia Kim; Editing by Richard Borsuk)
