ATLANTA, Feb 12 (Reuters) - Aircraft supplier Spirit AeroSystems Inc (SPR.N) said on Friday that it had named Philip Anderson as chief financial officer, a post he had held on an interim basis since October.
Anderson previously was company treasurer and vice president of investor relations. Before joining Spirit, he held a number of posts at plane maker Boeing Co (BA.N).
Spirit AeroSystems is a former Boeing unit that makes commercial jet fuselages and wing parts.
Rick Schmidt, the previous chief financial officer, notified Spirit AeroSystems of his decision to retire in August 2009.
Shares of Spirit, which is based in Wichita, Kansas, were down 1.6 percent at $17.61 on the New York Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Karen Jacobs; Editing by Lisa Von Ahn)
