DENVER (Reuters) - Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari will be sidelined a week to 10 days with a broken left big toe, the team said Tuesday.
Gallinari, acquired by the Nuggets from the New York Knicks as part of the Carmelo Anthony trade, injured the toe in Friday’s 107-106 overtime loss to Portland.
The 6-foot-10, 22-year-old Italian scored 30 points in the game.
Initially the Nuggets thought the 2008 first round draft choice had sprained the toe, but X-rays on Monday revealed the fracture, the team said on its website (www.nba.com/nuggets).
