COLOMBO, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Sri Lankan shares .CSE hit a record high of 3,337.85 in the first 40 minutes of trade on Wednesday, surpassing a previous record set on Tuesday.
Analysts said that investors were positioning ahead of Jan. 26 presidential polls and the New Year. The bourse has more than doubled this year.
Analysts said net foreign buying last week of about 2.3 billion rupees boosted sentiment that has carried into this week. Net foreign inflows from the end of last year to Dec. 22 stood at 367.6 million rupees. (Reporting by Shihar Aneez; Editing by Neil Fullick)
