Russia's Surgut wants to sell its stake in MOL-source

MOSCOW, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Surgutneftegaz (SNGS.MM), Russia’s fourth-largest oil firm, is considering the sale of its 21.2 percent stake in Hungarian oil and gas group MOL MOLB.BU, a source at the Russian company told Reuters on Thursday.

“We wants to sell it and we are in constant talks with MOL,” he said without elaborating further.

Surgut has been blocked from MOL’s shareholder meetings since it bought the stake from Austria’s OMV (OMVV.VI) for 1.4 billion ($1.8 billion) last year in a deal which angered MOL and the former Socialist government in Budapest.
