Sweden govt likely to win parliament majority -poll

 * DN/Synovate poll: govt at 51.7 pct vs opposition 42.0 pct
 * Poll shows anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats winning seats

 STOCKHOLM, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Sweden's centre-right
government has extended its lead over the opposition and could
win re-election with a bigger majority on Sept. 19, a poll
showed on Sunday.
The SVD/Sifo poll put support for the four-party "Alliance"
at 51.7 percent against 42.0 for the "Red-Greens". When they won
power in 2006, the four-party Alliance had 48.2 percent of the
vote against a combined 46.1 for the Social Democrats, Left and
Green parties.
The anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats got 4.6 percent in the
latest poll, above the 4 percent hurdle for seats in parliament.
Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has said the country would
be more difficult to govern and less economically stable should
the election bring in a minority administration with the Sweden
Democrats holding the balance of power.
Analysts say currency and bond markets would react
negatively in such a scenario, though with most polls over the
last couple of weeks indicating the government winning a
majority, fears of such a situation occurring are easing.
All parties represented in the current parliament have ruled
out cooperating with the Sweden Democrats.

The SVD/Sifo poll also backs up other recent surveys in
pointing to gains by the Moderate Party, the biggest of the
Alliance. If the results are repeated in Sunday's election, the
Moderates would be Sweden's biggest party, overtaking the Social
Democrats, who have run the country for much of the last
century.
The pollsters interviewed 1,435 people between Sept. 6 and
Sept. 9.
