Swedish Fin Min says Nordea decision won't affect tax revenues

STOCKHOLM, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Swedish Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson said on Wednesday that Nordea’s headquarters move to Finland from Sweden was unfortunate, though it was not expected to affect tax revenues.

“This will not mean anything for Swedish tax revenues,” she told a news conference.

“They have also said their decision is motivated by them wanting to be in a country that is in the banking union and in the Swedish parliament there has been broad agreement that it has so far not been right for Sweden to join, even if we are now looking at that.”

The Nordic region’s biggest bank, Nordea said earlier on Wednesday it would move its headquarters to Finland, as it looks reduce the cost of compliance with Sweden’s tough regulatory regime. (Reporting by Niklas Pollard and Johan Ahlander; Editing by Simon Johnson)
