Taiwan's new top financial regulator says will more strictly enforce rules for non-compliant firms

TAIPEI, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Taiwan’s new top financial regulator, Wellington Koo, said on Wednesday that he will more strictly enforce rules for non-compliant financial holdings firms.

Koo, a well-known lawyer with close connections to the ruling party, was appointed as the chief of the Financial Supervisory Commission, which regulates Taiwan’s banking, insurance and securities industries. (Reporting by Faith Hung; Editing by Sam Holmes)
