Taiwan's regulator says to impose more controls on insurers with larger FX losses

TAIPEI, April 19 (Reuters) - Taiwan’s financial watchdog said on Thursday it will impose tighter controls over insurers with larger foreign exchange losses, without elaborating.

Financial Supervisory Commission Chairman Wellington Koo told a parliamentary meeting that overseas investments of Taiwan’s insurance companies account for 65 percent of total investment. (Reporting by Emily Chan; Writing by Clare Jim; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
