Murdoch says rules out higher bid for Dow Jones

WARSAW, June 27 (Reuters) - Rupert Murdoch said on Wednesday he had no plan to raise his bid for media group Dow Jones & Co. Inc. DJ.N and expected a final approval from the Bancroft family, which controls the company, within two to three weeks, "if at all".

“Everything is done. We are just waiting for a final approval of the Bancroft family,” Murdoch told Reuters during a visit to Warsaw.

"The final approval is in the next two, three week's time or not at all," he said. Sources told Reuters earlier this week that Murdoch's News Corp NWSa.N cleared a major obstacle to the $5 billion purchase of Dow Jones after the two companies agreed in principle on safeguards to the editorial independence of Dow Jones' news operations.
