Russia MegaFon requests right to acquire Synterra

MOSCOW, May 28 (Reuters) - MegaFon, Russia’s No. 3 mobile operator, has lodged a request with the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service to acquire up to 100 percent of telecoms company Synterra, the deputy head of the service said on Thursday. “Yesterday MegaFon put in a bid to buy up to 100 percent of Synterra. We will review the request in the course of 30 days,” Dmitry Rutenberg, the deputy head in charge of transport and communications at the service, said.
