NEW YORK (Reuters) - A software glitch cut service to an unspecified number of XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.'s XMSR.O customers on Monday, the company said.
“Some customers are not receiving a signal,” said Chance Patterson, XM’s vice president of corporate affairs. “We don’t know the exact number, but some.”
The radio network has a total subscription base of more than 8 million. “We do expect to return to normal service levels this evening,” Patterson said.
Washington, D.C.-based XM’s program lineup includes Major League Baseball and talk show host Oprah Winfrey, as well as shock jock duo Opie & Anthony.
