LONDON (Reuters) - Only seven minutes of action was possible before rain stopped play for a third time at Wimbledon on Tuesday.
Showers were expected to interrupt play several times on day eight of the grasscourt grand slam. which has been badly disrupted by wet weather.
Play started as scheduled at 11 a.m. but by 1:32 p.m., there had been three disruptions.
Champion Amelie Mauresmo was trailing Nicole Vaidisova 6-7 5-4 when the players were called off court. Third seed Jelena Jankovic was locked at 6-3 5-7 against France’s Marion Bartoli.
