WASHINGTON, Nov 26 (Reuters) - The Pentagon said on Monday it awarded No. 1 U.S. defense contractor Lockheed Martin CorpLMT.N a $849 million contract for continued work on the Trident II (D5) Missile, a submarine-launched ballistic missile armed with nuclear warheads.
It said work on the contract, which is a modification of Lockheed’s existing contract with the U.S. Navy, would be completed by September 2011.
