Tomkins sells U.S. conveyor systems unit

LONDON, Nov 26 (Reuters) - British engineer Tomkins TOMK.L has sold U.S.-based Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor, a provider of conveyor systems to automotive and industrial markets, to U.S. private equity firm Knox Lawrence International, it said on Monday.

Tomkins did not disclose a price for the business, which reported sales of $189 million in 2006. It said the sale was in line with its strategy to dispose of non-core assets.
