LONDON (Reuters) - The G20 summit has agreed to try to kick start stalled Doha trade liberalisation talks at the next G8 meeting, an EU diplomat said on Thursday.
The diplomat said U.S. President Barack Obama agreed to the move after calls from European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the summit.
“They have convinced President Obama to address Doha at the next G8 meeting in Italy, that is the G8 plus outreach to Brazil, India and others,” the EU diplomat said.
