Turkcell-reached 2010 33 pct EBITDA margin target

ANKARA, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Turkey’s leading mobile phone company Turkcell (TCELL.IS) will reach its 2010 EBITDA margin target of 33 percent, its deputy chief executive said, after a another year of tough competition and sweeping regulatory change.

Koray Ozturkler said he saw the mobile phone penetration rate in Turkey rising in 2011, and that profitability was improving in Turkcell’s Ukraine and Belarus units.

The introduction of mobile number portability in Turkey in late 2008 saw users ditch multiple SIM cards in favour of one operator — launching a punishing price war and hitting penetration rates.
