Turkish central bank says policy to stay tight to fight inflation

ISTANBUL, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Turkey’s central bank said on Tuesday that it will maintain its current tight monetary policy stance until there is a significant improvement in the outlook for inflation, which it expects to remain above target for some time.

It said data from the first quarter suggested that private sector domestic demand would lose momentum but said net exports would contribute to growth as foreign demand recovers.
