Factbox - Security developments in Afghanistan

(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan reported at 12 p.m. British time on Wednesday.

BAGRAM - Armed with hand grenades and rockets, a group of Taliban suicide bombers launched a pre-dawn attack outside the key NATO base in Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Ten insurgents were killed following several hours of fighting outside the Bagram air base, the U.S. military said, adding one U.S. contractor was killed and nine troops were wounded in the incident.

SOUTHERN AFGHANISTAN - A soldier of the NATO-led force died in a roadside bomb attack in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday, the alliance said. It gave no further details.

KUNAR - A rocket landed inside an Afghan army base in an area of eastern Kunar province, wounding several soldiers on Wednesday, an Afghan official said.
