WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved legislation authorizing two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to be transmitted to the Senate, clearing the way for a trial.
In a mostly partisan vote of 228-193, the House also approved seven House Democrats who will serve as “managers” to prosecute the case against Trump. Preliminary actions in the Senate trial are expected to commence later this week.
