WARSAW, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Federico Ghizzoni confirmed Italy’s Unicredit (CRDI.MI) appointed him as the bank’s new chief executive at a board meeting in Warsaw on Thursday and added that it had not appointed a director-general.
“Unicredit is a European group. We’ll keep on growing organically in Europe. There are no transactions in the loop,” Ghizzoni told reporters.
The previous head of Italy’s largest lender, Alessandro Profumo, quit abruptly last week after a clash with shareholders. (Reporting by Piotr Bujnicki, writing by Adrian Krajewski)
