Explosion at Aperam stainless steel plant in Belgium injures three

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - An explosion at a Belgian factory of stainless-steel maker Aperam on Wednesday injured three people, the company said.

Firefighters were still attending the fire at the factory in Chatelet near the Belgian town of Charleroi, but appeared to have the situation under control, a company spokesman added.

It was not yet clear what had caused the explosion and what would be the longer term impact on operations.
