Bahrain's Shi'ite opposition condemns martial law

MANAMA (Reuters) - Bahrain’s largest Shi’ite Muslim opposition group, Wefaq, condemned the Sunni-dominated government’s decision to impose martial law on Tuesday and called for international intervention.

“There is nothing you can do. The army is in control of society now,” said Jasim Hussein, a Wefaq politician.

“We condemn this and call on the international community to live up to its responsibilities.”
