SEATTLE (Reuters) - Seattle’s Jarrod Washburn pitched the first ‘one-hitter’ of his career on Monday, shutting out the Baltimore Orioles 5-0.
Washburn gave up just a fourth-inning single to Nick Markakis, then retired the final 16 batters he faced. The left-hander had three strikeouts in his fourth career shutout.
Russell Branyan homered and Chris Woodward hit a two-run double to lead the Seattle offense.
