ABC's Martin Bashir joining MSNBC in the fall

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Investigative journalist Martin Bashir is jumping ship to MSNBC.

The co-anchor of ABC’s “Nightline” will get his own afternoon show on the cable news network, beginning in September, and will also contribute to NBC’s “Dateline.”

The Briton, who rose to international prominence by interviewing Princess Diana and Michael Jackson (separately), has been with “Nightline” for five years.

In addition, ABC News announced that Bill Weir become a “Nightline” anchor, joining Terry Moran and Cynthia McFadden.
